My Approach


Does it feel like you are stuck living your life on autopilot? Do you often find yourself feeling restless or unable to relax?  Do you struggle to feel content even when things are going seemingly well? 


I'm here to help!


 

I'm Elizabeth Myatt - I'm a licensed professional counselor and a certified yoga teacher. To me, good therapy starts with a solid connection between us. That means getting to know you outside of the context of your current life situation. My therapy style is laid-back, and upfront, with a sprinkle of humor. 



Treatment Focus

My treatment focuses include stress management, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I also have experience working with a wide range of issues including, but not limited to, trauma, self-esteem, parenting, and relationships.


Additionally, I am one of the only licensed mental health professionals in the country to offer yoga-centered counseling/psychotherapy. I believe helping my clients feel present and centered in their bodies is the key to long-lasting change. In this approach, my goal is to help my clients learn the skills to connect their minds with their bodies. Learning these skills helps set the foundation for lifelong healthy coping, stress management, and cultivation of inner peace even in the midst of chaos.


Training:

The following is a list of evidence-based modalities that I am trained in and use most frequently in my practice:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Therapy Process

Starting therapy can be overwhelming. Here is what the process looks like when working with me:

  1. Phone consultation: Here I will gather important information such as goals for therapy, type of therapy preferred, insurance & payment options, and scheduling your first appointment. 
  2. Online paperwork & assessment: Next, I will send you the client paperwork for you to fill out in your secure client portal.
  3. Therapy Process Begins: Together we will work towards your goals and process any barriers.
  4. Graduation: Leave therapy feeling more present, complete, and whole in your everyday life.
