My Approach

 

Does it feel like life is moving too fast, and you’re just trying to keep up? Do you struggle to trust yourself, feel at peace in the midst of chaos, or balance your own needs with the expectations of others?

I’m here to help.

I’m Elizabeth Myatt – a licensed professional counselor. To me, good therapy starts with a strong, genuine connection between us. That means getting to know you as a whole person, beyond your current struggles. My style is down-to-earth, direct, and sometimes funny—because meaningful growth doesn’t have to be stiff or intimidating.


Treatment Focus

 I work with people who want to live intentionally, set healthy boundaries, manage stress, and trust themselves more fully. I help clients navigate anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt, life transitions, and the pressures of meeting others’ expectations. Together, we build practical strategies for confidence, resilience, and inner peace—even when life feels chaotic.

I am also a certified yoga teacher (CYT-200) and integrate mindfulness and body-awareness practices when helpful, helping clients connect mind and body. These skills support lasting coping strategies, clearer decision-making, and a deeper sense of calm and presence in everyday life.


Training:

The following is a list of evidence-based modalities that I am trained in and use most frequently in my practice:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Therapy Process

Starting therapy can be overwhelming. Here is what the process looks like when working with me:

  1. Phone consultation: Here I will gather important information such as goals for therapy, type of therapy preferred, insurance & payment options, and scheduling your first appointment. 
  2. Online paperwork & assessment: Next, I will send you the client paperwork for you to fill out in your secure client portal.
  3. Therapy Process Begins: Together we will work towards your goals and process any barriers.
  4. Graduation: Leave therapy feeling more present, complete, and whole in your everyday life.
